How many free API requests can I make per day?

You can make 1,000 free API requests per day. This quota allows you to extensively test the API.

The free tier may be used for any project, including commercial ones. Please do not create multiple accounts to increase your free tier; instead, consider subscribing to a paid plan.

Is the API output different between the free and paid plans?

No. The free tier provides exactly the same data as the paid subscription plans, but the query volume is much lower in the free tier.

When can I cancel my paid plan?

You can cancel your monthly subscription plan at any time.

For database products, where the subscription grants access to a database via download, there is no refund for the current monthly subscription plan.

In other words, you can cancel your database subscription at any time, but you are required to pay for at least one billing cycle.

Do you offer refunds?

Generally, as we offer digital products, we do not offer refunds.

You can thoroughly test the API before purchase; therefore, it's unlikely that you will be disappointed by the paid plan since it provides the same data quality as the free plan, just in a higher volume.

However, we are reasonable. Please contact us if you would like to discuss a refund.

Can I make a one-time payment to purchase API requests?

API requests can also be purchased through one-time payments. API lookups acquired this way never expire and can be used at your convenience.

Do I still have a free daily tier after making one-time payments?

Yes. Before your one-time payment-purchased requests are consumed, your free daily tier of 1,000 requests is used.

Do I still have a free daily tier with a paid subscription?

No. Our subscription plans are more generous than those of any of our competitors. For that reason, you will lose your free daily tier if you subscribe to a monthly paid API plan.

Can I rent the full ipapi.is software?

The ipapi.is software and database are available for rent, allowing operation within your own infrastructure.

  • Renting the complete ipapi.is software and database is priced at $200 per month (Business subscription).
  • Support and feature requests are included.
  • The ipapi.is software requires a minimum of 6GB of RAM and 2vCPUs. This substantial RAM requirement is due to the in-memory storage of the ipapi.is database.

The IP to Hosting Database contains all known hosting / cloud IP ranges of the Internet.
